Create your own program! 

Today is the first day of April 2013! April is my favorite month of the year for many reasons, one being that it is my birthday and I am 26 in 10 days! It is also spring here in NYC and am looking forward to watching Central Park bloom! It is also when more fresh raw food is easily accessible here and oh and it is EASTER so I eat and enjoy chocolate... The Earth Diet style!

Check out the BRAND NEW DAILY RECIPES we post on the website! This was the one for today...chocolate themed of course ;)

CHOCO MOCHA SMOOTHIE

Total making time: 
15 minutes

Serves: 
one

Ingredients:1. 3/4 a cup of nut milk (cashew, macadamia (most creamy), almond, hemp nut, hazelnut etc)
2. 1/2 a cup of ice 
3. 1 frozen banana (for alternative to banana: frozen berries) (if you don't like it cold though do not freeze the banana!)
4. 1 tablespoon coconut oil
5. 2 teaspoons of cacao powder
6. 1 teaspoon of freshly ground organic coffee beans
7. 2 dates
8. 1/4 teaspoon himalayan salt
9. 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
(1 teaspoon of raw honey or maple syrup if extra sweetner needed) 

Action:
1. Place all ingredients in the Vitamix or High speed Blender and blend until SMOOTH consistency. Wahla smoothie!

Tip: 
+ Don't use the dates unless you have a super high speed blender like the Vitamix... unless you want chunks in your smoothie! 
+ Sprinkle finely ground coffee beans and cacao powder on top of the smoothie!

I wanted to write this blog today because yesterday I decided to UPGRADE my health. For the month of April I want to increase my energy and shed a couple of pounds that is excess weight that kept me warm during the winter!

So I created my own program with The Earth Diet, which is also available to you!

The idea with creating my own program is that I MAKE IT WORK FOR ME,
to achieve my goals...

Here is what I wanted to achieve: 

1. To stick to The Earth Diet 100% for 27 days (April 1st - 27th)
2. Alcohol free (not that I drink much but I will have sips of wine every now and then, but for these 27 days I won't be.)
3. To have majority raw vegan days
4. To do lemon water daily
5. To have a beet juice or green juice daily
6. To have orange juice daily
7. To drink PHRESH greens daily (to alkalize my body and get all the greens in)
8. To incorporate some cooked meal days
9. To incorporate some meat meals
10. To incorporate a raw dessert like chocolate daily
11. To select recipes from my favorite flavors including chicken nuggets and mac n cheese
12. To have my daily base of liquids (lemon water, juice, smoothie, juice again, phresh greens and herbal tea) and then eat meals ONLY if i am hungry. I want these liquids for cellular nutrition.

And aside from food my goal is to do yoga 7 times, zumba 4 times, go to the sauna 4 times, do a castor oil pack 4 times, and get one coffee enema (each to their own right!).

So now that I outlined what I want to achieve, AND I am excited about the food I get to eat, my rewards and of course the high on life feeling of eating such healthy life giving foods!

So once my goals were outlined, I came up with this program to realistically work with my schedule:

Monday 1st - Lemon Water (LM), then Beet Juice (BJ), then Smoothie (SM), then Orange Juice (OJ), then RAW MEAL, and then Herbal Tea (HT)
Tuesday 2nd - LM, BJ, SM, RAW MEAL, OJ, HT
Wednesday 3rd - LM, Green Juice (GJ), SM, RAW MEAL, OJ, HT
Thursday 4th - LM, Green Juice (GJ), SM, COOKED MEAL, OJ, HT
Friday 5th - LM, BJ, SM, RAW MEAL, OJ, HT
Saturday 6th - LM, BJ, SM, RAW MEAL, OJ, HT
Sunday 7th - LM, GJ, SM, COOKED MEAL, OJ, HT
Monday 8th - LM, GJ, SM, RAW MEAL, OJ, HT
Tuesday 9th - LM, BJ, SM, RAW MEAL, OJ, HT
Wednesday 10th -

These are my MEAT recipes I am choosing from: 
1. ROAST CHICKEN
2. CHICKEN WINGS
3. CHICKEN NUGGETS
4. TED BURGER
5. EGG OMELETTE
6. CHICKEN CURRY
7. SALMON TERIYAKI

And this means in 27 days I will have...
  • 19 full raw days
  • 8 days where I can incorporate cooked meat meals
  • I would have consumed 27 lemon waters
  • 27 beet or green juice
  • 27 orange juices
  • 27 smoothies
  • 27 green drinks (PHRESH GREENS)
  • which means 27 days of sooo many NUTRIENTS!!!!!!!!

Then I set myself rewards, and what made me excited is to have one reward per day to hold me accountable to sticking to my program. Rewards for me include purchasing a new vegan handbag I have my eye on, buying a trip out of the state to see Black Keys in concert, going to the movies, eating out at my favorite raw food restaurants in NYC, to get a facial, massages etc. So each day that I stick to my program I reward myself.

  1. Hi i was wondering if you had any recipes for fruit dips (something to put on an apple for say) that dont include nuts?

  2. I am up for this challenge! I am going to follow your regimen for April in May. I worked 25 years as a secretary and during that time went from 135 lbs to 210 lbs! I quit a year ago, moved to a rural area and became a janitor at a local school. The building I work at is 100 years old, 3 stories and no elevator. I went from 210 to 160 lbs. I got off my butt and started basically exercizing for 8 hrs a day! I would still like to get back to my 135 lb frame...I know it's in here somewhere! The Earth Diet seems like a logical choice. Wish me luck!

  4. You have a great list of healthy recipes.
    I agree with the personalized diet program approach.
    There is no ‘one size fits all’ diet that is perfect for everybody. Fitness Training involves forming good habits and the right diet program for YOU.

    The best diet plan for YOU, is the one that YOU can stick to (assuming it’s also effective in achieving the result you want).
