Day 12

Thoughts: Today I caught up with a good friend Steph who just got home from Canada and was absolutely glowing! Her skin radiant, her nails long and strong, and her face clear and light! She told me about the Perricone diet! A diet created by a dermatologist Nicholas Perricone who says that 'A day without protein is a day you age'. Steph said how she was staying away from starches, and Perricone says that "Starches are behind ageing and inflamation".

Jennifer said "I am 33 and i had horrible skin since my mid 20’s.. horrible breakouts and always looked bloated.. i went on this perricone diet and my skin glows and is very tight.. plus i lost weight and love it.. i will always stick with this diet.. plus i cheat with coffee in the morning but ditch the sugar.. its crazy how much money i have spent on all the cleansing products and its all about the food you put in your body"

On the perricone diet you do not consume Alcohol, Breads (especially French baguettes and croissants) Flour, Coffee, Breakfast cereals (except non-instant oatmeal), Granola, Duck, Beef, Fruit juice, Many fruits, like grapes, mangos, oranges, papaya, raisins, watermelon, Many vegetables, like carrots, corn, peas, potatoes, pumpkin,Pasta and noodles, Pizza, Pickles, Rice, Soda (including diet soda), Sugar and Hard cheese. Seems like a lot of food that you can't eat! However try it out, the results may be worth it, you can eat eggs, olive oil, chicken, salmon, lettuce, strawberries and rockmelon and blueberries! Mmm sounds good to me! I will implement parts of the perricone diet into my Earth Diet and let you know how it goes! After all, it is all earthy! (but I do love my carrots and corn!). With that being said, I believe that all foods on the earth were created for us to consume in moderation, obviously if you eat potatoes everyday you may notice a decrease in your energy, but in balance, mmm I love my potatoes cut like chips and cooked in olive oil with himalayan salt (after all its better than eating Mcdonals or nandos chips!)

Challenges: I didn't plan my day, and so I ended up having to go out with 20 minutes to make dinner, so I boiled an egg, and later when I got home at 10.30 pm I fried 2 more eggs, so because of my non planning i ate eggs for dinner, and today I ate 5 eggs...sheeshh I will grow wings soon.

Triumphs: Well another day on the Earth Diet, day 12 is a huge triumph! Wooo seeing as for 5 years I couldn't go longer than 7 days without a binge on chocolate, lollies, chemicals, toxins and preservatives, this is a huge triumph for me! When I was 'in it' I actually never thought I would be free of 'it', I would keep telling myself this is the last day,I will start tomorrow, tomorrow is a new day, and tomorrow came and I would have the same thoughts, the same actions and just keep setting myself up for more pain, more addiction. And as much as I would say "I hate feeling like this, I want it to stop, I want this to end more than anything", if I looked at my actions, I was just creating MORE of that, I would say I want to stop yet I would keep bingeing thinking I was the victim, 'it was just happening to me', I can't control this, poor me bla bla bla. But then I got I am creating this! And when you really get that you are the creator of your life, you can create anything you want, I created an addiction to food, to pain, and once I got that I could re create and declare it over and now I am creating a healthy earthy lifestyle and diet!

What I ate today:

Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled in olive oil

Lunch: peanut butter (pure crushed peanuts, you can do it yourself with a blender!), with a raw carrot (peanut butter and carrot actually tastes awesome together!) , and raw broccoli and a chamomile tea.

Dinner: I had an egg buffett for dinner, 1 boiled egg and 4 scrambled eggs in olive oil that I shared with Sophie. The egg buffet was because of lack of planning and preparation.

Dessert: No dessert.

Snacks: No snacks.

Cost: To buy free range organic eggs for $6 or $7. And if you are in the egg aisle and comparing the price between regular eggs and free range eggs, it may be a difference of $4 or $5, but when it comes to you, and your health, you are worth a million dollars! Billions even! So instead of thinking I want to save $3 and buy regular eggs, instead say I am investing $3 into me! woooo! You will feel empowered ;)

Exercise: 30 minutes in the gym which consisted of 10 minutes running, 10 minutes on weights for arms and legs, and 10 minutes on abs in the sauna, then I climbed 405 stairs! Iam toning up for two modelling gigs I have coming up, I prefer to exercise outside in the fresh air, surfing or skateboarding or running on the beach but at the moment I am living in the city so I do what I can ;)

353 Days to go!
